STUDENTS' STUDIO

Visit the Students' Studio to get tips on playing the recorder, find out about choir rehearsals and concerts or download the latest news concerning the music department  or information sheets for your studies.  If you feel like sitting back why not just put on your headphones and listen to some musical audio clips from recent perfomances.

MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAM

All students from PreKindergarten to grade 8 study music. Read more about our music curriculum on the Parents' Atlas curriculum website.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ELECTIVE PROGRAM

All middle school students can choose to study music in more depth.  We offer the following subjects as an elective:-

• vocal ensemble
• keyboard
• guitar

MARYMOUNT CHOIR

Students can join either the junior choir or the senior choir.  Students attend lunch time rehearsals and participate in a range of concerts in the school.  There are opportunities for the choir members to perform with other international schools and visit other countries for special concerts.

Each year members of the Middle School Choir join the MAIS Honor Choir for a special five day event of rehearsals, concerts and cultural activities.

KIDS ON STAGE

Performances take place throughout the school year, although the main concerts are at Christmas, during International Week and the annual Spring Concert takes place in May.  Students from the 5 -8 grades perform an annual school play and other musical performances take place in regular school assemblies in the auditorium.

School Plays and Musicals

• In March 2010 the school play was Tom Sawyer.
• In April 2009 students performed William Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
• In March 2008 students performed  Guys & Dolls
• In March 2007 the school play was Annie.

Do you have any videos and / or photographs of any Marymount musical concerts and events? We are looking for images and recordings from 2008 and from previous years.  We would like to copy them and use them for the website and other promotional material.
