VISUAL ARTS

Each homeroom class meets in the art studio once a week. The program offers drawing, painting, printing, pottery and sculpting skills at all grade levels.  We also offer an after school art club.

ART PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The visual arts program is geared to children from grades 1 to 8.  Drawing, painting, printing and 3D skills are introduced through the works of famous artists.  Learning about artists, their styles and their work is an important part of art class.  Not all children will grow up to be artists, but all will visit museums in Paris and around the world. This makes children art literate.

Art projects are varied and divrse in skill and in technique .  The art studio is bright and sunny with natural light and inspires the artist within all the children.  The teacher is Mme Michele Debuisne.

GRADES 1 - 5

Children in grades 1 to 5 meet in the art studio each week.  Art activities are tailored to meet the needs of children in all grade levels.

A wide range of techniques and skills are explored throughout the year.  Student art is displayed in the main school building, the library and the lunchroom.

For more details about the curriculum visit the Parents' Atlas curriculum site.
