FAMILY STORY HOUR

The library hosts a weekly family story hour for the parents and children in the Marymount community.  Families gather around a good book with the school librarians, share their own favorite read-alouds, and offer reading recommendations.  Find out more about our program and how to participate.

OUR GOALS

This program:

  • emphasizes the importance of family participation in reading initiatives
  • provides a social setting to discover the pleasure of sharing a good book
  • supports our goal of  a "lifelong love of learning"

WHAT IS THE FAMILY STORY HOUR?

Every week, parents and librarians join together to provide a great social activity for the children - storytelling. Families take off on the adventure found inside a good book. After the stories, children can also enjoy activities and games provided by the librarians.

This weekly family outing to the library is also a great opportunity for parents to get reading recommendations and storytelling advice from the librarians.  They can also choose a good book from the collection for themselves, and inspire their children to make reading a part of their after-school fun!

WHEN AND WHERE?

Join librarian Sarah Thomas in the library every Friday from 3:30 - 4:30.

See you there!
