RESOURCE CENTER

The Resource Center provides learning support in the areas of reading, writing, math, and study skills for students with mild to moderate learning difficulties.  Find out about the teachers and specialists and more information about the program.

WHO WE ARE

Ms. M.J Gillen was born in Northern Ireland and has worked with students with special needs for 6 years.

Mrs A. Hall was born in the United States and has worked with students with special needs for 6 years.

WHAT WE DO

We provide pull-out support for students idenitified with mild to moderate learning difficulties.

Collaboration

  • Work with classroom teachers to identify students' special needs and, after identiification, arrange testing and placement.
  • Collaborate with classroom teacher to define appropriate activities for students in relation to the curriculum.
  • Meet regularly with classroom teachers to keep track of assignments and student progress in class.

Individual Educational Profiles (IEP)

  • Write IEPs and lessons
  • Prepare lessons, assess work and write reports for end of trimester evaluation.
  • Provide instruction to either indvidual students or small groups of students within or outside the class.
