Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Heim
US Embassy

U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Heim is a Eurasian Foreign Area Officer (FAO) assigned as Assistant Army Attaché to the Defense Attaché Office, Paris. In 2012, LTC Heim graduated from North Carolina State University with a Master of Arts degree in International Studies, with a specialization in Security and European Affairs. He then served three years as an academic instructor in the Defense and Strategic Studies Program and the Department of Foreign Languages at the United States Military Academy (USMA), West Point, New York.

 

Major Matt Stacy
US Embassy

Major Matthew Stacy grew up in Tennessee and Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and French with a Minor in Leadership from Virginia Tech and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May of 2010. Major Stacy conducted French language training at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. After graduation from DLI, he completed ILE before moving to Paris, France to conduct his In-Region Training (IRT).

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mark Springall
Scoutmaster troop 112 Paris

Mark was educated in the UK and joined the Royal Navy after college as a Helicopter Observer. Following his military career he spent 5 years in police service in Police Helicopter operations. Mark has spent the last 25 years as an Airline Pilot working for Boeing, Corporate and Virgin Atlantic Airways flying Boeing 727/737/747 and 787 aircraft. He is currently Captain on 747 cargo operations out of Liege in Belgium flying mainly to China and Russia.
Married with two boys (scouts) aged 12 and 16, he has now lived in the Paris suburbs for 22 years. He has been a Merit badge counsellor, Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster since 2019.
