Fine & Performing Arts

Our Art program inspires creativity and provides opportunities for artistic expression in every Marymount student.

This is done through weekly sessions with a dedicated Art teacher in the Art Studio. Young artists experiment with a broad range of media as their teacher challenges and guides them through a variety of techniques with a focus on particular artist and themes that complement other aspects of the curriculum. Students benefit not only from our beautiful, spacious and naturally lit studio, but also find inspiration in architecture and art galleries of Paris and further afield, through regular field trips. Further opportunities for students to hone their artistic skills are offered through the Extended School program.

The emphasis of our Music program is on making music with, and for, others.

Every student at Marymount has at least two weekly sessions with a Music teacher who provides both general instruction and performance opportunities. Students develop both their vocal and instrumental expression and are encouraged to explore music from their own cultures and share it with the community through regular concerts. Further development and performance opportunities are also arranged through our choral programs, regular liturgies and the annual School Play.

Drama at Marymount is a creative process that provides students with a wide range of valuable learning experiences.

It is improvisational in nature and involves every aspect of the child’s personality: spiritual, moral, emotional, intellectual, imaginative and physical. Students can explore conflicts, issues, consequences, attitudes, emotions, concerns and preoccupations that are important to the understanding of real life. Every year, Middle School students are given the opportunity to audition for the annual School Play, performed in the Spring.
