Leonardo de Araujo, known as Leonardo, is a Brazilian former football player and coach who is currently the sporting Director of Paris Saint-Germain.
A versatile player, he worked in several positions throughout his career, including as an attacking midfielder, striker and left winger, his most famous and most successful period was in Milan, in the role of attacking midfielder or trequartista behind the forwards. Played for teams in different countries like Brazil, Spain, Japan, France and Italy, winning titles with Flamengo, São Paulo, Kashima Antlers and Milan.
The former Brazil international player, he played in the 1994 World Cup winners and teams that finished second in the 1998 edition of the tournament. He also represented his country in two Copa America tournaments, reaching the final in 1995 and won the title in 1997, winning the FIFA confederations Cup in the same year.
After his retirement, he also served as coach and Sport Director to the Italian side Milan, and successively as a coach through rivals Internazionale, where he won the title of the Italian Cup in 2011. He coached also the team Antalyaspor, Turkey, in 2017. He later served as Sport Director for the second time at French club PSG.
