School Spirit Band (Wind Instruments) From Grade 4 - Grade 8

Want to be part of something exciting, loud, and unforgettable?

Join the Marymount Spirit Band and learn to play a wind instrument while becoming part of a team that brings energy and excitement to our school community. Students can learn instruments such as the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and more, then showcase their skills at school celebrations, performances, and sporting events on campus.

No previous experience is required - just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!

A selection of instruments will be provided by the school. Students wishing to learn an instrument not offered through the school may rent one through our partner music store.

Make music. Build school spirit. Be part of the sound of our community.

Music Together - Early Years

Each week, Music Together students take part in joyful, engaging music sessions led by Valentina. Through singing, movement, and rhythm activities, as well as instrument play, they discover songs from around the world and strengthen their basic music skills in a fun, natural, and developmentally appropriate environment. It’s the perfect way to end the school day - with music, movement, and smiles!

Music, Beginner String Group - Elementary

The Beginner Strings Group teaches children how to start playing a string instrument such as the violin, viola, or cello. Together, they will learn how to play their new instrument through bowing games, beginning repertoire, ear training, the basics of music theory, and how to practice at home. They will learn all this amongst their peers in a fun and supportive environment

Children must have an instrument to participate in the Beginner String Group Class, but they do not need one for the first class.

There are luthiers in Paris that offer rentals for 17-20€ per month. Renting is the best way to start because, as children grow, they must change the size of their instrument until they reach full size. The luthiers also insure the instruments and are there for any necessary repairs. The teacher will hand out information about renting instruments after the first class.

This activity is designed as a year-long experience across all three trimesters. For that reason, we strongly recommend students begin in the first trimester. Joining later in the year won’t be possible unless the student has prior experience and can confidently join the group at its current level of progression.

Ballet - Early Years and Elementary

In Ballet class, students are learning the basic steps and positions of classical ballet technique. They work on coordination, flexibility, core strength, musicality, and a sense of rhythm. Children also have moments to improvise, which helps them build confidence.

Irish Dancing - Early Years to Grade 1

Students explore the rich traditions of Celtic music and dance through progressive lessons in rhythm and footwork. This activity encourages self-expression, builds confidence, and fosters creativity.

Theatre - From Grade 4 to Grade 8

The Theatre Club offers children a creative journey through theatre, helping them build confidence, imagination, and self-expression. Through activities such as improvisation, role-play, movement, and voice work, students develop key performance skills in a fun and supportive environment. The programme also encourages teamwork and helps children grow in self-confidence and collaboration as they explore the world of theatre.

School Musical - Middle School

Rehearsals for the Marymount Musical 2027 will begin during ASA Trimester 3, starting on March 8.

Participation will also require attendance at a one full-day Saturday rehearsal closer to the performance.

Further details will be shared with participating families as the school year progresses.

Creative Expression - Early Years

Students will be encouraged and supported in expressing themselves through a variety of creative mediums - clay, paint, wire, mark-making, construction, storytelling... The focus is on nurturing each child’s personal, social, and emotional development, exploring what makes them unique. The class will be delivered in an open, supportive environment where independence and child-led exploration are warmly embraced.

Art Club - Early Years, Elementary and Middle School

Art Club provides a creative and expressive outlet for students to explore various art forms and techniques. Through engaging projects and activities, students can develop their artistic skills, booster their imagination, and express their unique ideas.

Nature Art - Elementary

Nature Art encourages creativity through materials found in the natural world - leaves, twigs, pebbles, and more - offering a calming and engaging artistic experience.

Creative Makers Atelier

Creative Makers Atelier is a hands-on creative activity designed to nurture imagination, confidence, and self-expression through art and making.

Across three semesters, children explore a range of materials and techniques while being encouraged to create in their own unique way. This activity values process over perfection, supporting each child at their individual stage of development and helping build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem through creative exploration.

T2 - Clay Exploration

Tennis - From Kindergarten to Grade 8

Marymount has partnered with Option Tennis to offer Tennis in the 2026-27 ASA program.

Throughout the year, students develop their tennis skills by learning and refining the fundamental techniques of the game, including groundstrokes, volleys, and serves. As their confidence grows, they practise rallying, improve consistency, and apply their skills through a variety of engaging drills and game-based activities. In the final term, students are introduced to match play, where they learn basic tactics, scoring, and game strategy. A strong emphasis is placed on sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play, helping children enjoy the game while building confidence both on and off the court.

Tennis sessions will be held in the outdoor playground.

In case of wet weather, activities will be moved to one of the small gyms.

Soccer

Soccer training focuses on developing fundamental skills such as passing and dribbling through fun and engaging drills. Students learn the basics of game play while building coordination, confidence, and cooperation. The sessions foster a love for the sport in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Saturday Morning Parent-Led Basketball & Soccer

We are delighted to continue offering Saturday Morning Basketball and Soccer sessions, led by our wonderful community of volunteer parents*.

These sessions give children the chance to build their basketball and soccer skills through fun drills and games. It’s also a fantastic way for students and parents to connect, stay active, and enjoy some of their favourite sports together.

Each trimester will include around 6 sessions (specific dates to be confirmed).

*If you are a parent interested in supporting these activities, please let us know - we’ll be happy to connect you with the parent coordinators.

Important note about sign-up:

SchoolsBuddy only allows one activity per day to be selected. For Saturday activities, this means students can only sign up for either Basketball or Soccer in the system. If your child would like to participate in both, simply let us know and we’ll add them manually to the participant list.
